Gwen Gius Ceccanti

It was natural for Gwen to find her way to the Board of the Dieringer Education
Foundation. This life-long Lake Tapps resident learned the importance of
supporting the school district from her parents who both made significant
contributions to the district over the years. Graduating first from Dieringer in
1982, Auburn High in 1986 and later the University of Washington, Gwen stuck
close to her roots continuing to live in the community she loved.
Thinking back to her Dieringer experience, Gwen’s best memory was going skiing
with Superintendent Carl Hill who established a ski program for our district.
Gwen’s fond memories of the Dieringer Ski School led to her volunteering to serve
as the program’s leader after the district decided to terminate its involvement
with the program. Gwen, along with former middle school secretary, Carol
Engstrom, ultimately saved the ski school much to the relief of countless future
Dieringer skiers .
Gwen is a founding member of the Dieringer Education Foundation. She first
served as the Foundation’s president in 2009 before later transitioning to
secretary. She currently serves as treasurer. Gwen remains a strong advocate
and supporter of the Dieringer community. Her admiration for the dedicated staff
who serve Dieringer students continues to drive her efforts today.
